JAC Half Yearly Examination 2026

After a long gap caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Half-Yearly Examination is being reintroduced in Jharkhand schools. The Jharkhand Council of Educational Research and Training (JCERT) has taken the initiative to restart this important academic evaluation process for students of Classes 1 to 12 across the state. The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC), Ranchi will be responsible for preparing the official question papers for all subjects.

To ensure smooth organization, JCERT has asked all schools to submit the number of students enrolled in each class through the E-Vidhavahini portal. This data will help in accurate printing and distribution of question papers. For the first time after several years, both question papers and answer booklets will be sent by JCERT itself, guaranteeing uniformity and transparency in the examination process.

The exams are scheduled to be held from 8th October to 17th October 2025 in all schools and colleges affiliated with the JAC Board. These half-yearly exams will help teachers evaluate students’ learning progress and allow students to assess their preparation before the annual board examinations. The JCERT and JAC have made special arrangements to ensure that this year’s examination is conducted in a well-organized, fair, and systematic manner across Jharkhand.
